About
Welcome to Classic Auto Electric, where we specialize in electrical services and products for classic automobiles from the 1920’s through the 1960’s. We offer a full line of service and restoration for clocks and radios, as well as instruments and gauges for your classic car. We also offer a full line of conversion and modernization for original classic radios. We can add FM to your original AM radio, or convert it to modern AM/FM stereo, even adding Bluetooth and USB if desired.
To tell you a little about myself, I have been building and repairing automobile radios and clocks since the 1960’s, when many of these classic cars were still pretty new.
I am a big fan of classic cars and motorcycles (this is my own 1930 Model A Ford coupe). I am an electrical engineer by trade, with a degree in Electrical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University. I started my career as an electrical engineer in the 1960’s working for NASA on the Apollo Program, then went on to design and build a number of avionics and computer systems for the US Air Force and Navy. I am a licensed ham radio operator (K4ELF) and I have held a First-Class Commercial Radio-Telephone license for many years.
I am a tenured (and retired) professor at McPherson College here in Kansas, and I have taught automotive restoration and automotive electronics for twenty years. McPherson College is the only college in the United States offering a full four-year degree in auto restoration. If you are not familiar with the college, I invite you to check it out at http://www.mcpherson.edu/autorestoration
My goal is to provide the highest possible quality of service and creative products to the classic car community.
